PolitiCal is free for voters and always will be. We’re an independent, mission-driven company, and independence is the point: our funding rules are strict, published, and boring on purpose.

How we’re funded: we’re actively pursuing grants and awards from nonpartisan foundations and programs. We are not yet accepting public contributions; when we are (once our business infrastructure is complete), contributions will not be tax-deductible (we’re not a nonprofit), and everything below will apply.

Our funding rules: no money from political parties, campaigns, or their affiliates, at any remove. No single funder above roughly 30% of our budget. Every funder disclosed publicly. No advertising, no sale or sharing of data, and no funder influence over what we publish. The current funder list lives in our Trust Center.
